Austin Area Job Growth Holds Up

The Austin area continued to add jobs in May, the only large Texas metropolitan area that has done so for the fourth month in a row.

The Austin-Round Rock area gained jobs at a 0.5 percent rate last month compared to a year earlier, the Texas Workforce Commission reported. That translates to 4,200 jobs, bringing the region’s job count to 781,400.
